In the present invention there is disclosed a defective recombinant adenovirus containing sequences ITR, a sequence enabling encapsulating and sequence of a heterologous DNA comprising one or several therapeutic genes and/or one or several genes encoding antigen proteins whereby in said adenovirus the E1 and at least one of the E2, E4 and L1 - L5 are non-functional. In the present invention there is also claimed a pharmaceutical preparation in which said adenovirus is comprised as active substance.
