PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated drawing machine wherein the number of blocks can be reduced and further the length of a wire arranged in the plotter can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the automated drawing machine including an X carriage 40 provided in a main body so as to be movable in an X direction a Y carriage 61 provided for the carriage 40 so as to be movable in a Y direction, and a pen arm 30 provided in the carriage 61, wherein the forward end thereof projects from an opening formed in the front side of the main body and a pen is held on the forward end, the forward end being vertically movable, a solenoid Q is provided in the carriage 40 to vertically move the forward end of the pen arm.
