PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a halogen-free curable resin composition imparted with sufficient flame-retardancy by including a polyphenylene ether resin, a benzoguanamine-modified phenolic resin and a phosphoric acid ester as essential components. SOLUTION: The objective composition contains (A) a polyphenylene ether resin (e.g. a copolymer of 2,6-dimethylphenol and 2,3,6-trimethylphenol), (B) a benzoguanamine-modified phenolic resin (e.g. benzoguanamine-modified phenol- formaldehyde resin) and (C) a phosphoric acid ester (e.g. triphenyl phosphate and cresyl phenyl phosphate) as essential components. Preferably, the benzoguanamine-modification ratio of the component B is 10-70 wt.% and the compounding ratio of the component C based on the sum of the components A and B is 20-80 wt.%.
