PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide composition which has excellent mechanical characteristics such as an excellent tensile strength, excellent flame retardancy, low water absorption and excellent dimensional stability and gives molded articles having good appearances, and to provide a molded article comprising the polyamide composition. SOLUTION: This polyamide composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyamide which comprises (a) dicarboxylic acid units containing 60-100 mol.% of terephthalic acid units and (b) diamine units containing 60-100 mol.% of 6-18C aliphatic alkylene diamine units, and (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of a brominated polystyrene obtained by polymerizing brominated styrene compounds containing 50-100 wt.% of tribromostyrene.
