PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a hepatitis C virus(HCV) by carrying out a reverse transcription reaction by using an RNA derived from a biological sample as a template, amplifying the product by using a primer pair specific to the HCV, and detecting the amplified product. SOLUTION: A reverse transcription reaction is carried out by using an RNA derived from a biological sample as a template to provide a hepatitis C virus(HCV)-specific reverse transcription product, and the HCV-specific reverse transcription product is amplified by using a positive primer represented by formula I or the like, a reverse primer represented by formula II or the like, and the like to provide an HCV-specific amplified product. The amplified product is visualized by a gel electrophoresis, or detected by a method or the like for capturing the amplified product on a solid supporter including an HCV- specific oligonucleotide probe and determining the captured product by using colorimetric assay to efficiently detect the hepatitis C virus. |
