PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic planting apparatus for bulbs to enable the mechanical planting of a bulb having long root, a bulb to be planted after cutting the root such as garlic or various other bulbs and remarkably saving the troubles and labor. SOLUTION: A posture-controlling stamping roll 6 supported in a manner rotatable in normal direction by the grounding friction is placed behind a delivery end 3a of the rear part of a backward tilting conveyor 3 transporting a bulb (a) in a state directing the root (a1) backward. The posture-controlling stamping roll is switchable from a posture to hold a bulb between the roll and a transporting face 3d of the conveyor to embed the bulb in the roll face 6a made of an elastic material while directing the root of the bulb backward to a posture to separate the bulb by the elastic recovery of the roll face and fall down the bulb directing the root slantly downward and backward. The posture-controlling chute 7 under the delivery end 3b restricts the posture of the falling bulb to the planting posture directing the root downward and guides the bulb to the ground while keeping the posture.
