PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate need of manpower at the time of reference positioning and shunting of a positioning device, easily maintain accuracy, and prevent influences of flames or molten slag when a steel plate is cut. SOLUTION: A cylinder 22 is submerged in the ground below a steel plate groove forming side of a fixed board 1, and a stopper 23 which has a reference positioning face 23a of the fixed board, and is capable of extruding on the fixed board 1 and being engaged with a groove forming side edge 2a of the steel plate 2 at the extruding time, is mounted to a piston rod 24. Then, a skirt 26 for blocking an opening 25 of a cylinder submerged part when the piston rod 24 is shrunk, is installed at the bottom of the stopper 23.
