PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod surely holdable in a housed state and designed to reduce holding force drop or malactuation due to its wear or change with time through ensuring urging force not to act at all times. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is so designed that, the rod pipe 1 of a main rod, the rod pipe 2 of a 1st medium rod, the rod pipe 3 of a 2nd medium rod, and the rod pipe 4 of a ear tip rod are jointed mutually; the rod pipes 2, 3, 4 of the 1st and 2nd medium rods and the ear tip rod are respectively detachably jointed successively on the front side of the rod pipe 1 of the main rod and the respective joint outer circumferences of the rod pipes are detachably jointed to the corresponding joint inner circumferences successively; in the figure, a shaking-type fishing rod as the objective fishing rod having the design as described above is shown; a screw stopper 5 is fixed onto the rear end of the rod pipe 1 of the main rod and screwed with a butt stopper 6, thus the screw stopper has such a design as to have a larger diameter part 5a on the outer circumference, a smaller diameter part 5b on the level difference portion, and a screw part 5d, a circumferential groove 5e, and a tip slant part 5f on the inner circumferential surface 5c; and the circumferential groove 5e is insertedly fitted with an elastic projection 7 with semi-elliptically annular section made of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, elastomer resin or the like, the hardness of the projection 7 being pref. 60 deg. to 90 deg..
