PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the working time to the formation of an iron running-out hole without shortening the durable service year of refractory bricks by joining plural refractory bricks to a prescribed shape with an adhesive, using this joined body after drying this joined body in a specified temp. atmosphere and forming the iron running-out hole. SOLUTION: The furnace bottom part in a blast furnace is formed out of carbon bricks 2 and the surrounding part of the iron running-out hole 1 is formed out of a refractory brick joined body 3 for iron running-out hole, integrally stuck and dried. Previous to the formation of the iron running-out hole 1, single refractory brick for iron tapping hole is worked to a prescribed shape and size, and an adhesive is coated on the joining surface of this refractory brick and the refractory bricks are stuck, respectively and assembled. After removing the adhesive over-packed from the joined surface, the joint-pushing is executed. The refractory brick joined body 3 integrally stuck is dried in a drying furnace at a temp. of about 100-200 deg.C. As the adhesive, inorganic refractory mortar is used and a setting agent containing sodium silicate and silicon oxide quanlity refractory is desirable to use.
