TONGUE STRUCTURE OF SHOES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the slip down of a tongue and keep the fitting property of the instep part during movement by forming a shoelace insert part for inserting a shoelace in about the center of the whole length of the tongue provided in the front part of a vamp body in a cross form. SOLUTION: A shoelace insert part is formed on a tongue 3 by two pairs of slits 6a and 6b. The tongue 3 is connected to the vamp body 2 of a shoe by inserting the tip of the tongue 3 to the inside of an eyelet decoration 5 provided along the front opening part 4 of the vamp 2 and sewing the tip of the tongue 3 to the tip of the eyelet decoration 5. Four slits extending through only to the surface skin layer of the tongue 3 are provided in the area located in the longitudinal and lateral center part of the tongue 3 to form a shoelace insert part 8. Two slits are opposed with a space to form a pair of slits 6a and 6b, and two pairs of slits 6a and 6b are arranges so as to be opposed in a cross form, so that a shoelace 9 is crossed in the inner part of the shoelace insert part 8 when inserted thereto.
