PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of tying an edging thread that does not require a skilled worker, can tie edging thread simply to a net, in a short time and efficiently and a fishing net with the edging thread. SOLUTION: A method of tying an edging thread S to the section ends N1 of a knotted net N and a fishing net with the edging thread. The edging thread S is arranged along the direction of rhombic meshes of the section ends N1 of a net N, overcasting is carried out as if to wind a sewing machine thread around one mesh or two meshes of the section ends N1 and the edging thread S using an over lock sewing machine. A butting thread is tied to the section ends N1 of a net N by a overcast stitch.
