PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for high lift work cars, capable of positively preventing fall-down when the car body tilts largely, for example, when riding over a step, and preventing the workability from being impaired by the action of unnecessary regulations during normal travelling. SOLUTION: A detected signal S2 of the tilt angleθof a car body 11 is passed through a low pass filter 60 to remove disturbance components which are independent of the tilt of the car body 11, and when it is detected from a signal S2' obtained in this manner, that the tilt angleθ1 after the signal is passed through the filter exceeds a reference angleθo, regulation of travelling is performed.
