PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the quality of application by a method in which the amount of an applied viscous material is measured by recognizing the material optically, the measured result is compared with a set value, when the judgement of the application amount is negative, application conditions are corrected, and the necessity of the re-measurement of the application amount is judged. SOLUTION: On the basis of image data on each application point taken by a camera 10, a recognition part 44 calculates the application area of a bond as the data of the application amount of the bond of each application point. The camera 10 and the recognition part 44 measure the application amount by the calculated application area, and a judgement part 60 receives the application amount measurement result and conducts necessary judgement. In other words, the acceptance/rejection part 61 of the judgement part 60 compares the application area calculated by the recognition part 44 with a standard value of the application area stored in a trial application memory part 50 and judges the acceptance/rejection with regard to the result of trial application. In the case of rejection, the necessity of the re-measurement of application amount concerning bond application to be carried out after the correction of the application conditions is also judged.
