PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laterally roofing facing structure with a heat insulating layer having increased heat insulating property and inside dewing preventing capability at the reverses of facing materials and constructed to be lighter for giving high density as usual, high bending strength and backup ability equivalent to that of a heavy member. SOLUTION: A laterally roofing facing structure consists of a plurality of supporting members 3 arranged on a backing 1 along the flow direction, and heat insulating materials and laterally roofing facing materials placed on the supporting members 3 in sequence and mounted by holding members 8. The heat insulating materials are continuously arranged in the cross direction and upper and lower overlapped portions 6a and overlapping portions 6b are placed in overlapped relation in the direction of eaves ridges in the range to tunnel portions in the direction of eaves ridges for receiving and supporting the face plates of the laterally roofing facing materials 7 on the surfaces of the heat insulating materials and landing legs on the reverses of the heat insulating materials on the backing 1.
