PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost reclining device such that the angle of a backrest part to a seat part can be seat easily by means of a lock-equipped gas spring. SOLUTION: This reclining device 1 has a gas spring drive 31, which comprises an assist lever 32 by which a lock-equipped gas spring 16 connected to a backrest part 4 is pushed at its push rod 19 serving as a valve operating part so as to operate the spring 16, and an air bag 33 for moving the lever 32. The air bag 33 is inflated and contracted by means of a remote controller 6. The bag 33 is inflated by remote control to move the lever 32 and push in the rod 19. When a seater applies load to the backrest part 4 with his or her upper body, the spring 16 shrinks and the backrest part 4 collapses. Similarly, when the rod 19 is pushed in and the seater separates his or her upper body from the backrest part 4 to remove the load, the spring 16 expands and the backrest part 4 rises.
