PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an external wall continuous part ranging upstairs and downstairs for maintaining fire resistance without limiting the degree of freedom in design. SOLUTION: In a structure of an external wall ranging upstairs and downstairs of building, a metal batten plate 9 long from side to side having a heat insulating material 14 layered on the reverse is mounted between the lower end of an upstairs facing plate 3 and the upper end of a downstairs facing plate 3 and a decorative plate 17 long from side to side is mounted on the surface of the batten plate 9. A metal bracket 15 is mounted on the surface of the batten plate 9 and the decorative plate 17 is mounted via the bracket 15. A water proof sheet is built up between the lower surface of the upstairs facing plate 3 and the upper surface of the batten plate 9 so as to strand thereover.
