PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door storage case structure which facilitates handling of an external surface forming member forming an external surface of a door storage case, and to provide a method for assembling the door storage case. SOLUTION: A sliding door 3 is of a hung type, which is hung from a rail arranged in a door head 4. The sliding door 3 which recedes along the guide of the rail is housed in a door storage case 9 arranged inside a wall 8. The external surface of the door storage case 9 is constituted of two face bars 41, 42 which each are a backing on which a wall board 12 as a wall member is installed and each also form an external surface forming member, and these two face bars 41, 42 are arranged so as to be vertically aligned, and therefore they are each formed into a square or an almost square shape. As a result, at the time of handling of the face bars 41, 42, e.g. carrying on the face bars in the construction field of a sliding door apparatus, flexure of the face bars 41, 42 is reduced, leading to easy handling of the same.
