PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a swing type hydraulic excavator which has a simple constitution and does neither generates any hunting motions nor decrease the operability and parallelly transfer a front device with ease. SOLUTION: The controller is constituted of a changeover switch 9 changing over on/off of control, solenoid valves 13a, 13b guiding the pilot pressure of a controller 8a for revolving motion so as to impart the reverse rotation of the upper slewing body to the swing device when the control is turned on and a shuttle valves 17a, 17b choosing the higher pressure side in the pilot pressure adjusted by the controller 8b and the pilot pressures led by changeover valves 13a, 13b and leading it to a flow rate control valve 4b.
