PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a monofilament-containing woven or knitted fabric to which a lustrous grain appearance is given without extremely deteriorating a touch and/or water marks having excellent transparency. SOLUTION: Polyamide monofilaments or polyester monofilaments having a small alkali solubility and polyester multifilaments having a large alkali solubility are processed by a method such as a covering method, a doubly twisting method or an interlacing method to obtain composite filament yarns. The composite filament yarns are processed into a woven or knitted fabric. The prescribed areas of the woven or knitted fabric are printed with an alkali- treating agent, dried, subjected to a wet thermal treatment to decompose the largely alkali-soluble polyester constituting the multi-filaments, and then washed with hot water to dissolve off the largely alkali-soluble polyester multifilaments in the composite filament yarns, thereby eroding the fabric. Thus, the woven or knitted fabric having water marks having excellent transparency is obtained. |
