PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a supercooled liquid crystal polyurethane excellent in properties, especially, vibration-damping properties and selective gas permeability, which polyurethane contains a microphase-separated supercooled liquid crystal phase in a crystalline domain, is obtained by crystallizing a thermotropic liquid crystal polyurethane from an isotropic phase through a nematic phase, and has a specified molecular weight. SOLUTION: There is provided a supercooled liquid crystal polyurethane containing a microphase-separated supercooled liquid crystal phase in a crystalline domain and having a number-average molecular weight of 10,000 or above. The starting material used is, for example, a polyurethane obtained by effecting the addition reaction of a diol component being 1,8-octanediol, 1,10-decanediol, or 1,2-dodecanediol and a monool component being a monohydric alkyl alcohol having one methyl group with a diisocyanate component being 3,3-dimethyl-4,4- biphenyl diisocyanate in an OH/OH/NCO ratio of 1/0.05/1.05-1/0.001/1.001 by equivalent.
