PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the stiffness of the neck or shoulder and improve the com fortableness of sleeping by providing a support means for inclining a head placing part along a spherical track according to the movement of the head between the head placing part and a base. SOLUTION: A user puts a head support device 1 on a floor surface or bedding and lies on its back with the head being on a pillow 9 placed on a head placing part 3. Since the pillow 9 and the head placing part 3 are in the state where the center is recessed, the head of the user is automatically position in the center part of the pillow 9. According to this, since the center of gravity of the head is located substantially vertically above a sphere, the head placing part 3 is substantially horizontally held. Since the center of gravity of the head is moved when the user moves the head, the sphere mounted on the lower surface of the head placing part 3 is rolled along the recessed part of a base seat to tilt the head placing part 3 in the moving direction of the center of gravity. Since the head placing part 3 is rotatable 360 deg. and inclinable in all directions, the head placing part 3 is inclined in the same direction even if the head is turned in any direction, so that an unnatural force is hardly added to the neck.
