PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which can obtain a brake device to give a braking force to a small size surface boat. SOLUTION: This brake device of surface boat consists of sponsons 31 and 32 installed disconnectable to a hull 11; the left side and the right side lock parts 50 and 51 to fix the sponsons 31 and 32 to the hull 11, a lock releasing means 60 to make the left side and the right side lock parts 50 and 51 into the unlocked condition to remove the sposons 31 and 32; and a rope for traction to connect the sponsons 31 and 32 removed from the hull 11 to the hull 11, and a braking force is given to a jet propelling boat 10 by drawing the sponsons 31 and 32 by the rope for traction.
