PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a locking means for a support rod supporting an armrest or the like from being exposed to the outside. SOLUTION: A support rod 8 fitted with an armrest 1 or the like and an operating lever 11 are vertically movably inserted into a pair of right and left height adjustment members 9 fitted into a tubular support 2 and each having a plurality of locking grooves 15, in such a manner that the operating lever 11 is constantly biased forward. The center portion of an engaging pin 18 passed through an oblong hole 16 in the support rod 8 is engaged in a groove 18 in the lower end of the operating lever 11. Both ends of the engaging pin 18 can be removably locked into the locking grooves 15 in both height adjustment members 9.
