PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover plate of a table or the like which can provide sufficient strength even with a thin-plate structure by improving edges. SOLUTION: In this mounting structure for a cover plate that covers the top of the rear or side portion of a top plate of a table or the like, the cover plate 1 is formed by causing at least the upper and lower ends of a base 1a made of a sheet metal to be forwardly curled into circular shapes on side view, and causing the loose edges of the upper and lower ends to abut the front surface of the base. The loose end edge of each curled portion is cut at a plurality of horizontal positions to form clearance portions 6 such that the width of clearance between the curled portion and the front surface of the base is smaller than the plate thickness of a mounting metal fitting. The upper end of the mounting metal fitting 3 having an inclined surface such that the front surface side of the upper end is inclined so as to extend backward as it gets higher is fitted into the clearance portion 6, and the rear surface of the mounting metal fitting 3 and the front surface of the base 1a are made to abut each other and connected together by a connecting means. Further, the lower portion of the mounting metal fitting is attached to a table main body.
