PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily operate a shift lever by arranging an auxiliary botton on a side surface of a knob, and constituting so that a pressing stroke of a shift button cannot be transmitted to an operation member at nonpressing time of this auxiliary button and the pressing stroke of the shift button can be transmitted to the operation member at pressing time. SOLUTION: A shift button 3 projects from an upper surface of a knob 2 of a shift lever 1. An auxiliary button 6 is arranged on the side surface rear side of the knob 2. This auxiliary button 6 can push the upper side in the knob 2 with a lower end hinge 7 as the center. Since the auxiliary button 6 is not pressed in a state of not rightly gripping the knob 2 of the shift lever 1, an under surface of the shift button 3 abuts to the tip 9a of a stopper 9, so that the shift button 3 cannot be pressed. However, since the auxiliary button 6 is pressed when rightly gripping the knob 2, the tip 9a of the stopper 9 slips out of the under surface of the shift button 3, so that the shift button 3 can be pressed.
