PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method capable of obtaining a natural image so that the surface of printed matter has no gloss and capable of directly applying recording to paper while dispensing with lamination. SOLUTION: Paper 127, a toner support, a toner sheet provided with a photothermal conversion layer and a toner layer, an image receiving support and an image receiving sheet provided with a photothermal conversion layer and a transparent ink layer are used. At first, the image receiving sheet is wound around the image receiving support so that the transparent ink layer thereof comes into contact with the paper 127 and is irradiated with laser beam on the side of the image receiving support. Laser beam applied at this time is allowed to irradiate an entire area where respective color toners such as KCMY toners transferred later are recorded. Next, the image receiving sheet is peeled from the paper 127 and the toner sheet is wound around the toner support so that the toner layer of the toner sheet is brought to a contact state. Subsequently, the toner sheet is irradiated with laser beam on the side of the toner support to transfer the color toners to the transparent ink 25 transferred to the paper 127. Finally, the toner sheet is peeled from the paper 127. |
