PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject film causing neither shear nor wrinkles, etc., during processing operations therefor such as printing and laminating processes, and excellent in hand tearability and twist settability as well, thus suitable in its use as, in particular a wrapping film or adhesive tape. SOLUTION: This film consists mainly of an aliphatic polyester which is composed mainly of recurring unit of the general formula [O-CHR-CO (R is H or a 1-3C alkyl)] and has a reduced viscosity (ηsp/C) of 0.50-2.50 dL/g (e.g. polylactic acid), being 1.440-1.455 in the refractive index in the thickness direction (Nz), -0.020 to 0 in the value resulting from subtracting the refractive index in the transverse direction (Ny) from that in the longitudinal direction (Nx):(Nx-Ny), and <=5% in thermal shrinkage in the longitudinal direction at 120 deg.C. |
