PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make outputtable the image of endoscope to a digital external equipment and the like, and make it possible to arbitrary select the size of image or output location when the digital output is done. SOLUTION: A timing generator 5, a frequency converter 7 and a timing control circuit 8 is set as a CCD driving circuit H. A timing pulse of scanning area, which has arbitrary size or location, is formed. The image signal of scanning area, which is specified in the normal imaging area, is read out from the CCD3 by controlling of the CPU 9. It is possible to set the size of this scanning area according to the size of display area of external equipment, or set the size specified at the control part and the like, or set at extraction area in arbitrary position. When displaying, it is also possible to do enlarged display.
