PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp a carrying state of a carried work for allowing carrying well and improving productivity, in a carrying device adapted to carry the carried work. SOLUTION: An article carrying part (a carrying means) C is provided with a driving means capable of controlling electrically, and carries an article (a carrying work) by operating a belt conveyer (a carrying part) 8 with the driving means. A work detecting means (a carried work detecting means) 13 is mounted on the article carrying part C and confirms presence or absence of the article. A controlling means judges a carrying state of the article by measuring a carrying period from a detection signal output from the work detecting means 13.
