PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an optimum drying operation wherein a drying function can be easily added to a washing machine without a drying function by detachably connecting a drying device to the washing machine, and in addition, the adding of the drying function can be selected in response to the demand of a user, the usability is favorable, the simplification of the production line, and the reduction of the cost are possible, the control of a drying operation is easy, and data of a loading amount or the like adopted in a washing process can be used for a drying process as well. SOLUTION: At an optional location on a washing machine, a hole communicating with a washing tank which works as a dehydrating tank as well, is provided, and to the hole, a drying device 52 which feeds hot air to laundry in the washing-dehydrating tank, and dries the laundry is detachably provided, and in such a washing machine, by a control device which is arranged on the washing machine, not only the operation control of a dehydrating process, but also the operation control of a drying process by the drying device 52 is performed as well.
