mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: high-pressure cylinder body is made of separate parts connected by coupling. Every part is provided with thread at its ends. Cylindrical grooves are made behind thread. Their diameter is not less than external diameter of thread. Thread and reciprocal grooves are provided on internal surfaces of covers and coupling. In process of cylinder manufacture covers and coupling are preliminarily heated to temperature which is higher than cylinder operating temperature. Then covers and coupling are connected to parts of cylindrical body by means of thread. Moment of tightening is selected so that axial force in threaded connection exceeds axial force occurring at action of operating medium pressure on covers and coupling. This done, covers and coupling are welded to body along cylindrical grooves by circumferential limiting weld. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 5 dwg
