PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent waste printing due to misloading of a print medium by preventing the print medium from being misloaded when it is replaced by a method wherein it is judged that a correct print medium is loaded to a printer and an alarm is given if needed. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a print medium 21 that is to be loaded to a printer 20 and has a magnetic mark 25 provided thereon at a non-printing face 11. A sensor means 22 provided to the printer 20 can detect the magnetism of the magnetic mark 25, then a predetermined kind of print medium 21 is discriminated based on the detected level of the magnetism so that it is possible to judge whether or not a correct print medium 21 is loaded thereto.
