PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the friction area of the drive side rotary member of an electromagnetic clutch by minifying the diameter of a bearing. SOLUTION: In the compressor with an electromagnetic clutch providing a shaft seal device 8 between a rotary shaft 7 and the inner wall surface of a housing 6, a support cover 9 formed of the body different from the housing 6 is arranged on the outer periphery side of the tip of the rotary shaft 7 and the drive side rotary member 1 of the electromagnetic clutch C is supported rotatably on the support cover 9 through a bearing 11. The support cover 9 is fixed to the housing 6 by a bolt 10. Thereby, the shaft seal device 8 can be assembled into the housing 6 before installing the support cover. Therefore, as the diameter of the bearing support part 9a of the support cover 9 can be made smaller than the outer diameter of the shaft seal device 8, the diameter of the bearing 11 is minified and the friction area of the drive side rotary member 1 can be increased.
