PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily construct an inexpensive slope protection structure by cosswise piling up closedly arranged concrete railroad ties in upper and lower directions as well as to enable reuse of resouces by using waste concrete railroad ties. SOLUTION: A plurality of concrete railroad ties 1 are layed in a mutually contacting manner at a shoulder-like portion of a road 2 at right angles with a slope 1, and a filler such as mortar is filled in a space 4. Thereon, a second stage railroad tie 1 is layed to cross a first railroad tie 1 layed at first, in a similar manner as the first railroad tie 1, and the filler 5 is filled in the space 4. Similarly, an upper tie 1 is layed to cross a lower tie 1, to thereby pile up the ties 1 for constructing a slope protection structure A. A long screw is inserted into a through hole of the upper and lower ties 1 and then fastened by nut, thus improving the integration of the structure A. Accordingly, construction of the structure A can be made easily and at a lower cost than the case where it is constructed by placing concrete, and the reuse of the waste ties is attained.
