PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble a wooden mattress formed of logs. SOLUTION: Logs 1a, 1b, 1c each with a mating groove 11 and a connecting hole 12 formed therein are arranged in a double cross and fasteners 2 each comprising a fastening plate 21 with a stainless bolt 22 welded thereto are passed through the connecting holes 12 to fasten the logs together. A storage recess 13 is formed in the upper surface of the uppermost log 1c so that a nut 23 secured to the stainless steel bolt 22 is not seen from the outside. Further, the storage recess 13 is closed with a plug 14 to conceal the nut 23.
