<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject tile with weatherability and easy workability, having brightness and deep feeling with stone texture or brick tone, easily formable to any shape and dimension, and contributing to resource saving and energy saving. SOLUTION: This tile 1 is obtained by mixing an aqueous solution of an alkali metal silicate with ceramic microballoon particles >=600 kgf/cm2 in hydraulic pressure-proof strength and >=1,500 deg.C in melting point, pottery scrap- pulverized particles, cement, inorganic fibers, inorganic filler, and water-soluble polymer followed by agitating the mixture and then temporarily drying it, sieving the mixture thus dried to afford a granular composition which, in turn, is put into a tile-shaped formwork and molded under pressure to effect hardening.</p> |
