PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head in which a channel unit and a head case can be aligned easily and no ink stand in a hole used for alignment on the nozzle forming face of the recording head. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a recording head 10, a positioning pin 220 does not fall out from a positioning hole 210 when a channel unit 118 is aligned with a head case 119 by inserting the positioning pin 220 into the positioning hole 210 from a positioning through opening 200 because the bottom of the positioning hole 210 stretches inward to form a thin diameter part 212 serving as a pin receiving part 211. Furthermore, no ink stand in the positioning through hole 200 because the positioning pin 220 is left in the positioning through hole 210 after the channel unit 118 is stacked on the head case 119.
