PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the installation area, to regenerate granular activated carbon and use it, and to prevent flocculated sludge from being generated by connecting a granular activated carbon adding means in the midway of a piping for passing raw water and connecting a liquid cyclone in the downstream. SOLUTION: The granular activated carbon adding means 12 is connected in the midway of the piping 11 in which the raw water flows from the upper stream toward the down stream, and the liquid cyclone 13 is connected in the down stream. The piping 11 attached with the adding means 12 is connected to the upper part of the cyclone 13, e.g. is connected in the tangent direction, and then the raw water is fed to the liquid cyclone 13. Thus, when the granular activated carbon added into the piping 11 with the means 12 flows in the piping 11 together with the raw water, the activated carbon is sufficiently brought into contact with the raw water and adsorbs a removing object component in the raw water. When the granular activated carbon is fed into the liquid cyclone 13, the granular activated carbon having large specific gravity drops with centrifugal force from a discharge port 13' at the lower end of the cyclone 13, and the treated water whose removing object component is removed is discharged from the upper end of the cyclone 13 into the piping and flows toward the downstream.
