PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an amphibious animal capable of easily, real-time-fashion, detecting at individual levels the presence of chemical substance(s), radiations or the like in the amphibious environment, and of understanding environmental pollution in high accuracy, by making itself hold cells transferred with a nucleic acid subject to sensitization according to specified condition(s). SOLUTION: This amphibious animal holds cells transferred with a nucleic acid such as one subject to sensitization only under a specified condition such as a condition that a certain specific chemical substance or the like is present or a condition that radiations or a plurality of chemical substances are mixedly present. It is preferable that this amphibious animal (e.g. Tylototriton andersoni, Rana japonica) is exposed to any environment, and the aimed specified condition(s) in the environment is detected by detecting the sensitization of a nucleic acid transferred into the cells in the animal; and the other objective detection system is constructed using a means for holding an-amphibious animal such as a transgenic frog 3 and a means for detecting the sensitization of a nucleic acid transferred into the cells in the amphibious animal.
