摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain dinitrogen oxide at a high yield by reducing nitrogen monoxide in a gas phase using a heterogeneous catalyst. SOLUTION: Dinitrogen oxide is obtained by oxidizing ammonia with an oxygen-containing gas such as air by the Ostwald method, or the like, to obtain nitrogen monoxide and reducing and nitrogen monoxide in the presence of the catalyst at >=40 deg.C under a pressure of 1-20 bar with a reducing agent. Nitrogen monoxide is reduced by using an Rh/Al2O3 catalyst having 1-5 mass % Rh or a Cr (II)/SiO2 catalyst having 1-5 mass % chromium oxide (II) at a reaction temp. of 200-450 deg.C in the case that the reducing agent is carbon monoxide, and by using a Pd/Al2O3 catalyst having 1-5 mass % Pd or a Pt/Al2O3 catalyst having 1-5 mass % Pt at a reaction temp. of 50-350 deg.C in the case that the reducing agent is hydrogen. A lanthanide-iron-zeolite catalyst and an Ru/Al2O3 catalyst are also preferable. The molar ratio of the reducing agent to nitrogen monoxide is preferably <=2.
