PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder capable of changing its input/output characteristics. SOLUTION: This master cylinder 1 is equipped with a cylinder body 2 having a cylinder bore, and with a piston 3 to be moved by a brake operation. In this case, the piston 3 is provided with a front portion 3a and a rear portion 3b, and a pressure chamber 9 is formed up in the front portion 3a, and an auxiliary pressure chamber 10 is formed up in a portion behind the front portion 3a where the rear portion 3b is positioned so as to let a first change-over valve 21 disconnecting the communication between the auxiliary pressure chamber 10 and the pressure chamber 9, be disposed thereto. |
