The depth H and a totalΣhi of the cutting quantity (hi) of the i-th time (i=1-n) are compared with each other, and in the case of H<=Σhi, processing is concluded, and in the case of H>Σhi,α, and (k) (k=H-Σhi) are compared with each other.αmeans an allowable value. In the case of k<=α, h1+k and hm are compared with each other, and in the case of hi+k<=hm, h1+k is substituted for h1 stored already, and processing is concluded. In the case of h1+k>hm, hi+1 is stored as hi+1=k, and processing is concluded. h1+k is controlled at a value less than the allowable cutting quantity hm so as to prevent the lowering of the lifetime of a drill.
