PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce crushed sand for aggregate having a rounded particulate shape losing sharp corners nearly like natural sand in good yield while suppressing the formation of a fine powder with a specific size or less unsuitable as aggregate. SOLUTION: A vertical crusher is constituted so that the raw stone supplied to the upper surface of a turntable 2 is crushed between the upper surface of the turntable 2 and the peripheral surfaces of crushing rollers 3 to produce crushed sand. In this case, the crushing pressure pressing the crushing rollers 3 to the upper surface of the turntable 2 is selected from a range of 1-15 kgf/cm2 to operate the crushing rollers 3 to produce crushed sand for aggregate efficiently while suppressing the formation of a fine power with a particle size of 150μm or less unsuitable as aggregate.
