PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunneling method which can reuse excavated soil as concrete without constructing a special plant on the ground, can easily adjust the amount of excavated soil for construction of the concrete, and further can reuse excavated soil generated in a mud shield method. SOLUTION: A mud shield method for carrying out excavation and concrete placement in a tunnel pit 22, comprises an excavated soil carrying-out step of carrying excavated soil to the outside 20 of the tunnel pit, an excavated soil introducing step of introducing part of the excavated soil in a mixer 8 in the tunnel pit 22, a hardener charging step of charging a harder in the mixer 8, and a kneading step of kneading the excavated soil and the hardener in the mixer 8, by the same. The excavated soil carrying-out step corresponds to a step of carrying the excavated soil to the outside via soil conveying pipes 4, 5 of two systems, and the excavated soil introducing step corresponds to a step of introducing the excavated soil in the soil conveying pipe 5 to the mixer 8, by operating a switching valve 6 provided for the soil conveying pipe 5.
