PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably detect the presence or absence of image receiving sheets by containing many stacked image receiving sheets and a mount arranged at the lowermost section and/or uppermost section of the image receiving sheets and formed with a punch hole. SOLUTION: A printer 10 is provided with a cassette 15 having an opening 15a at the upper section and a punch hole 15b at a bottom section, a carry-out roller (pickup roller) 11 arranged on a mount section where the cassette 15 is mounted and detecting the uppermost sheet 2 in contact with the image receiving sheets 2 from the opening 15a side of the cassette 15, a presser plate 13 arranged in the cassette 15, having a punch hole 13a at the position corresponding to the punch hole 4 of a mount 3, and pressing the image receiving sheets 2 to the pickup roller 11 side with springs 13b, a sheet sensor 12, and a shielding member 14. The sheet sensor 12 is constituted of a light projecting element 12a and a light receiving element 12b and optically detects the presence or absence with the shielding member 14.
