PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size and to reliably recover a floating substance, such as floating oil and scum on an oil level. SOLUTION: A passage 4 on the suction side horizontally situated and having a suction port 3 and a passage 6 on the discharge side having a discharge port 5 horizontally situated on the under side of the passage on the suction side are formed in the lower part of a pump casing 2. An impeller 8 is arranged in the passage on the discharge side right below a through-hole 7 to interconnect the two passages. The impeller is situated in a manner to be rotated by a motor 9, serving as a drive source, arranged at the upper part of the pump casing. A recovery part 11 to recover a floating substance, such as floating oil and scum, is situated in the suction port.
