PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a long modified polyethylene terephthalate based resin foam, excellent in secondary processability, capable of cycling, excellent in appearance of secondary processed products. SOLUTION: This method for producing the resin foam comprises dehumidifying and drying a mixture of three kinds of pellets comprising a modified polyethylene terephthalate-based resin pellet, a pelletized foaming agent and a pelletized nucleating agent at 45-65 deg.C over 3-12 hr by dehumidification type air flow drier, subjecting the dried pellet mixture to extrusion foaming in long shape at 150-210 deg.C cylinder temperature and 160-170 deg.C dice temperature, subjecting the resultant foam 10 to corrugation-eliminating treatment and pressing the foam by forming rolls 3 and 5 kept at >=45 deg.C, and density of the resultant foam 10 is within the range of 0.3-1.0 g/cm3.
