The cables for raising or lowering the lifting bracket (17) attached to the pile (11) are each joined to the carriage frame (2), from where they extend upwards over a pulley wheel (19) supported by a piston rod (20) in a vertical hydraulic cylinder (21), and then downwards again. The cables are secured to the lifting bracket during the raising or lowering of the pile. During the pivoting of the pile into a horizontal or vertical position the cables are secured via an extension cable extending over a pulley wheel (23) mounted on the carriage frame to a pivotable top guide (12), through which the pile extends.
