PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding tool, in which the opening and closing operations of a binding rod is easy. SOLUTION: On the widthwise one end side of a base 17, a binding rod holder 21 equipped with a binding rod 22 is rotatably supported and a slider is movably arranged in a gap S between the base 17 and a cover 13. A claw member 40 is provided on the under surface side of the piece member 39 forming the one end side of the binding rod holder 21. On the other hand, a notched part 26 for releasing the claw member 40 is provided on the one end side of the slider 18. The binding rod 22 is kept under a bound state when the claw member 44 engages with the notched part 26. The bound state can be released by slightly pulling out an operating part 19 comprising the one end side of the slider 18 from the base 17.
