PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality liquid crystal displaying device capable of not showing a displaying unevenness caused by a heat generated from a light source and circuits and showing a high contrast simultaneously in a normally black type liquid crystal displaying device. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal displaying device has a pair of base plates, a spacer nipped between them, and a liquid crystal layer formed by filling a liquid crystal material between the pair of the base plates. The liquid crystal material has characteristics that its driving electric voltage threshold valueΔVth changes by <=25 mV in the case of changing temperature by 10-C, and also the changing amountΔ(Δε) of dielectric constant anisotropy in the case of changing temperature by 10-C satisfiesΔ(Δε)>=1.45-(Tni/100) (provided that Tni is a temperature that the liquid crystal material changes from the liquid crystal phase to an isotropic phase), and also the liquid crystal material contains a liquid crystal compound having cyano group, by <=35 wt.% content.
